The teaching goals of the department aim at striking a balance between information technologies and management concepts. In the field of information technology, students are expected to learn modern computer technologies such as object-oriented programming, multimedia, high-speed networks, database design, and software engineering. Among management-related courses, students can take courses such as production/operation management, financial management, personnel management, and marketing. In our undergraduate programs, we teach the fundamentals of information technology and management, and train students in the basic skills in these fields. In addition, the students are requested to accomplish laboratory training courses and mandatory project for one year so as to practice and apply what they have learned.

In our graduate programs, we focus on three major areas: Information Technology and Applications, Enterprise systems and Management, and Quantitative Computing and Information Security. Based on these areas, we have formed three research groups allowing students to choose between a wide range of research topics and join cross-group projects. Courses include multimedia systems, grid computing, wireless networks, data mining, object-oriented software engineering, information security, system simulation, performance evaluation, operation research, knowledge management, finance management, and quantitative management.
