Located next to Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan’s Silicon Valley, National Chiao－Tung University (NCTU) is the Alma Mata of its many company founders and employees and is the leading engineering school on the island. At the univer¬sity, the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) College and the Computer Science (CS) College are its most prominent institutes consisting of more than half of its faculty and students.
NCTU also hosts the National Chip Implementation Center, a state－of－art research facility in IC design and fabrication, and has close ties with two world renowned chip foundries, Taiwan Semiconductor Manu¬fac¬turing Company (TSMC) and United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC). Unique EECS International Program
Starting in fall of 2008, NCTU ECE and CS Colleges will accept enrollments into a combined program designed specially for international students. The program will offer two academic concentrations: System on Chip (SoC)/IC Design or Telecommunication and Networking at bachelor, master and doctoral levels. All instruction will be delivered in English. Graduate students may be enrolled into education or research exchange options. Both graduate and undergraduate students are eligible for summer internship in the Science Park and full－time employment opportunities upon graduation. Qualified students will also receive generous scholarships based on merits or needs.
