The Psychology Department, College of Science, was established in 1989. The Department comprises several full time and many part time faculties, currently serving approximately 300 students. Each faculty member has a specialty in the academic fields, which follow fundamental discoveries about the causes of behavior, from cognitive, testing, developmental, social, clinical, counseling, and industrial perspectives. Undergraduate and graduate students learn to think critically and creatively about psychological issues through innovative classroom instruction, and by providing students with a rich variety of internship opportunities.

The Graduate Program of Psychology was established in the fall of 2001, for the purpose of assisting students with interest in applied psychology to develop their research and practice skills. Graduate students working toward the M.S. in Psychology at the Soochow University are offered three programs of study, designed to prepare them for careers of clinical psychotherapist, counselor, or human resources perspectives. Students collaborate with their directors in their area of study to determine the coursework and training that best meets the students’ career goals.

New discoveries are constantly informing our work and changing the way we go about our business, whether in terms of theory, application, or methods. If you are curious, creative, and energetic, there is no better time for you to be pursuing advanced study in psychology. We welcome your interest.
