Annotation:

It’s a four-year course. Minimum credits: 128 (including required, elective and general education courses). In the elective courses, students need to take at least 5 credits from Traditional Chinese Medicine Elective Group【Introduction to Chinese Medicine(2), Introduction to Traditional Chinese Pharmacology(2), Traditional Chinese Medicated Diet(1), Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Nursing(1), Traditional Chinese Traumatology in Nursing(1)】, 4 credits from Clinical Nursing Techniques Elective Group【Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nursing(2), Traditional Practice in Chinese Medicine Nursing(2), Practice in Comprehensive Nursing(II)(3), Practice in Comprehensive Nursing(III)(3)】and 6 credits from Foundational Medical Elective Group【General Biology(2), Organic Chemistry(2), Clinical Nutrition(2), Clinical Nutrition Laboratory(1), Anatomy Laboratory(1), Physiology Laboratory(1), Pharmacology Laboratory(1)】.
Required general education courses are 28 credits, including 8 credits of language courses (Chinese: 4, and English: 4—classification), 12 credits of field optional (Humanity and Art: 4, Social Science: 4, and Science/Life Science: 4) and 8 credits of core courses (Seminar Course: 2 at most, and Core Lecture Course: 6-8), organized by General Education Center. Students also need to take「Liberal Arts」(16 hours, 0 credit) before graduating. Refer to「Liberal Arts」 (the website of General Education Center).
Students need to pass English ability examination before graduating.
Students who want to take the elective course—Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nursing, Traditional Practice in Chinese Medicine Nursing and Traditional Chinese Traumatology in Nursing need to finish the Introduction to Chinese Medicine Course, and students who want to take the elective course—Traditional Chinese Medicated Diet need to finish the Introduction to Traditional Chinese Pharmacology course.
Students who failed Fundamentals of Nursing can’t take the nursing professional courses, including Medical-Surgical Nursing, Maternity Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing.
Students who failed Practice in Fundamentals Nursing can’t take the nursing professional courses, including Practice in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Practice in Maternity Nursing, Practice in Pediatric Nursing, Practice in Psychiatric Nursing and Practice in Community Health Nursing.
1 credit for clinical skill practice: Total 36 hours (2hrs/wk, total 18 weeks).
Physical Education (Both Freshman and Sophomore Year) is required. It has zero credit, and students can’t graduate if they fail the course.
General civilian safety course is every week for 2 hours for one credit. Each semester fulfilled can be used to deduct 4 days from military services total up to 16 days. Students are required to complete 4 semesters of General Civilian Safety Education before graduation and this fulfillment allows students to take military school entrance exam.
Education of nursing service is a required course that has 0 credit and it’s scheduled in first year. Service hours and location must comply with graduation status. For details look up learning center website or course guideline.
According to plan for Long-Term Care courses, Long Term Care service course had been modified to zero credit and is required.
This credit calculation is used to determine graduation eligibility.
Introduction to Long-Term Care, Integrated Human Resources in Long-Term Care and Introduction to Geriatrics. According to announcement (98.11.26) of CMU courses change management 7-5, number of elective courses should be 3 times more than the required courses. Credits for these three classes belong to Department of Health Care; therefore they are not under Department of Nursing.
