National Chung Cheng University (CCU) was built as a research-oriented comprehensive university under prosperous governmental funding just after economic boom in 1980s. Our university has seven colleges covering the field of humanities, science, social sciences, education, law, management and engineering. Currently, CCU has 11,000 students and 1,000 faculties. More than 99.9 % professors have earned a PhD degree.
Our university offers several English-taught degree programs, including International Master/ PhD Program of Educational Leadership and Management Development, PhD Program in Cognitive Sciences, International Master Program in Global Finance, Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing Systems, Doctoral Program in Ambient Intelligent and Smart Systems, and Doctoral Program in Science, Technology, Environment, and Mathematics. International students also can take free Chinese training courses provided by our Center for Language Studies.
Additionally, our university scholarship provides a great benefit for international students with the package covering a full waiver of tuition and dorm fees for first-year-international-students who get admission. CCU is located in the countryside where living-cost is far cheaper than big cities’. Since arrival, each new comer will be supported by the Office of International Affairs (OIA). OIA arranges voluntary students to host each new comer for helping adapt to local life.
CCU has a friendly environment for international students. It is well-instructed with facilities and living function. We are proud of high quality sport facilities including indoors and outdoors swimming pool in Olympic standards, rock climbing fields, golf practice field, and other common sport facility. A huge eight-floor library which collects more than 1,000,000 books always welcomes students to use. Additionally, our campus gives convenient living functions, such as post office, bookstore, a variety of cafeterias, convenient store, supermarket, glass store, computer hardware store and so on. CCU is also an exemplary site of Green University: Since 2009, the “Green Campus Program” has been funded with the government support to build CCU as an exemplary site of a green campus through solar power.
The visitors are always amazed at our pretty campus which was ranked as the most beautiful university by Taiwan Yahoo website. Several movies and TV dramas were shot in our campus, for example, Kano, a movie describing Taiwan’s baseball history, and Meteor Garden, a TV drama presenting romance between a noble boy and a poor girl. These popular dramas attracted many tourists to visit our campus every year. This wonderful campus is surrounded by green fields as CCU is located in the largest agricultural area. You can not only enjoy walking in quiet routes in campus but also biking in neighborhoods decorated by various sounds from early birds and falling flowers.
