Our department is one of the best educational and research Institutes in Taiwan and NCKU is the best university in southern Taiwan. All the faculty members obtained their PhDs from prestigious universities throughout the world, such as Taiwan, USA, UK and Germany.
2. 擁有世界級的登革及腸病毒71型病毒研究中心，研發抗病毒藥物及疫苗；此外，也研究A群鏈球菌、艱難梭狀桿菌等病菌之致病機轉以及氣喘、癌症、中藥方面的題目。
Dynamic research themes are the excellent features of the Department, especially for infectious diseases researches, which include viruses (special focus on Dengue and Enteroviru71) and bacterial (special focus on group A streptococci and Clostridium difficile), and other diseases including cancers, allergy and Chinese medicine.
3. 重視學術氣氛的營造，養成學生進取之學習態度。每週舉行免疫及感染症學書報討論會，由各實驗室輪流報告，分享成果並互相切磋。
Our goal is to nurture the students to be future scientific and society leaders. For this we has an enthusiastic and creative curriculum to inspire and educate our students to learn by actively attending special seminars, departmental progress reports (twice a year), regular laboratory and group meetings, and Journal clubs.
4. 可以直升或畢業後參加招生考試進入基醫所攻讀博士學位。
One of incentives in our department is that our students have the opportunity to enter the integrated PhD program in the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences of this college before or after finishing the Master’s program.
