Development~~
Fisheries Biology and Management: Focusing on assessment of biological resources in order to sustain the fisheries management. To expand our knowledge on biology of fisheries targeted species and to improve our ability in stock assessment to develop and manage sustainable fisheries management with responsible fishing technology.
Environmental Biology and Conserving Biodiversity: Concentrating on the interrelationship between biodiversity and marine environment. Through our understanding of the environmental impact on marine resources and biodiversity to assess marine biological resources and conserve biodiversity.
Graduation Requirements & Program Curriculum ~~
Students who receive M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in our department or in various fields such as Fisheries Management, Fisheries Oceanography, Marine Population Dynamics, Development of Conservation Fishing Gear, Fisheries Policy and Administration etc.

Degree programs:

Bachelor of Science (BSc) - 133 credits are required (86 general requirements plus 47 electives). 4 to 8 weeks of on-boat training is required during the summer recess.

Students are required to major at least one of the following programs
Fisheries Science Program: courses required including Biological oceanography, Fisheries biology, Fisheries technology, Remote sensing & global climate change, Biological resource management, Fisheries policy & management.
Environmental Biology Program: courses required including Environmental biology, Marine ecology, Marine biology, Ichthyology, Environmental chemistry, Ecotoxicology, Coastal pollution & management, GIS, Conservation biology.
Master of Science (MSc) - 30 credits are required (6 credits for thesis, 4 for seminar, and 20 for electives).
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) - 30 credits are required (8 credits for thesis, 4 for seminar: and 18 for electives).
