I have a high passion to learn cross-cultural study especially related to parent-child relationship among different countries. The opportunity to learn in Taiwan helps me to cultivate and broaden understanding about Asian Chinese culture in a new paradigm.



1. What made you decide to study in Taiwan?



My first time to participate in AIESEC Exchange Program in 2014 has been successfully impressed me to continue to study in Taiwan. It is a fascinating experience to find a plenty of diversity in Taiwan. I agree with the epitome which said Taiwan is the Heart of Asia.



2. Briefly tell us about the program you are studying. What subjects are you studying? What have you enjoyed the most in your studies?



Currently, I am studying Master of Psychology. I enjoy so much to study here as I have an excellent professor who teaches us professionally and shares their experiences and knowledge warmheartedly.



3. How is studying in Taiwan when compared to studying and being a student in your home country? (Teaching Quality、Environment、School Equipment、Laboratory or others)



Once I study in Taiwan, there a lot of differences in good and bad side. I feel that study in Taiwan provides a lot of discussion session about a cross-cultural study based on indigenous psychology perspective. I am so glad that I have an international atmosphere in the class, as each student represent their country. I like to get acquaintance with like-minded people where we have same visions though we have various backgrounds.



4. What has been the most difficult part about applying to study in Taiwan? How did you overcome the difficulty?



The most difficult part was when I need to do the medical checkup to provide the health certificate. It is difficult to find health clinic which provides MMR vaccines. Fortunately, I found it in another city where I need to reach there in hurry due to other students also feel hard to find it.



5. What do you plan to do after you have finish your studies in Taiwan? Would you like to stay in Taiwan?  Why?



I would like to work in Taiwan since Taiwan provides good opportunities in my career life. In my opinion, before we go back to dedicate our life in Indonesia, it is very important to obtain great experiences and outstanding skills (include foreign language) before we are going back to our origin country.



6. How do you think studying in Taiwan can benefit you in your future career?



As a psychology practitioner, it is very important to have an open-minded analysis skill to perceive multivariate differences without any prejudice and skeptical judgment. I do believe cross-cultural psychology perspectives will enhance my psychological analysis patterns in Indonesia.



7. What do you see as your key achievements when studying in Taiwan?



The core key achievements while studying in Taiwan is always open our mind and never stop learning. Well-adjustment without stand firm and rigid about our values and beliefs also needed if we have high curiosity to improve our understanding.



8. What advice do you have for other interested overseas students who want to come to Taiwan to study?



Study in Taiwan is not only about learning traditional Chinese language and the culture but also to improve our self-adjustment, find a creativity problem solving out of the box, get acquaintance to like-minded people and build up our confidence and independence. Believe in yourself that you will find new possibilities within yourself without you know before.
