My first time to participate in AIESEC Exchange Program in 2014 has been successfully impressed me to continue to study in Taiwan. It is a fascinating experience to find a plenty of diversity in Taiwan. I agree with the epitome which said Taiwan is the Heart of Asia.
Currently, I am studying Master of Psychology. I enjoy so much to study here as I have an excellent professor who teaches us professionally and shares their experiences and knowledge warmheartedly.
Once I study in Taiwan, there a lot of differences in good and bad side. I feel that study in Taiwan provides a lot of discussion session about a cross-cultural study based on indigenous psychology perspective. I am so glad that I have an international atmosphere in the class, as each student represent their country. I like to get acquaintance with like-minded people where we have same visions though we have various backgrounds.
The most difficult part was when I need to do the medical checkup to provide the health certificate. It is difficult to find health clinic which provides MMR vaccines. Fortunately, I found it in another city where I need to reach there in hurry due to other students also feel hard to find it.
I would like to work in Taiwan since Taiwan provides good opportunities in my career life. In my opinion, before we go back to dedicate our life in Indonesia, it is very important to obtain great experiences and outstanding skills (include foreign language) before we are going back to our origin country.
As a psychology practitioner, it is very important to have an open-minded analysis skill to perceive multivariate differences without any prejudice and skeptical judgment. I do believe cross-cultural psychology perspectives will enhance my psychological analysis patterns in Indonesia.
The core key achievements while studying in Taiwan is always open our mind and never stop learning. Well-adjustment without stand firm and rigid about our values and beliefs also needed if we have high curiosity to improve our understanding.
Study in Taiwan is not only about learning traditional Chinese language and the culture but also to improve our self-adjustment, find a creativity problem solving out of the box, get acquaintance to like-minded people and build up our confidence and independence. Believe in yourself that you will find new possibilities within yourself without you know before.
