Comprehensive Industrial Cluster

The 2010 Business Week Tech 100 includes a lot of Asian names, a total of 39 companies from Taiwan, Japan, Korea, China, India, and Singapore are on the list, indicating Asian Companies' strong competitiveness. Among the 39 companies, 8 are from Taiwan. Taiwan companies accounts for 40% of Asian companies on the list, only behind Japan and China. In addition, according to the EIU. 2011 Global IT industry Competitiveness Survey, Taiwan ranked 13th among the 66 countries in the world, ahead of Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong.

Taiwan has global deployment experiences and an integrated upstream and downstream basis in electronic and ICT industries, which enable effective integration of global resources. Taiwan's technologies in high-tech industry have been on track of international trend. With strong OEM/ODM capabilities, Taiwan companies have been the important partners of global brand names. Along with the increase of overseas investment, the proportion of overseas production to order received has also increased. Mainland China is the major OEM region for overseas production. According to the statistics of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, more than 20 Taiwan high-tech products rank top three in the world. Many of these products have more than 50% of global market share. Taiwan has played a key role in the international supply chain.
